A heads-up for all of us. No one is safe anymore from identity theft and other “white-collar” crimes. Title fraud, mortgage fraud, debit and credit card fraud are just a few of the crimes against the public that Keighley has investigated as a security consultant and now writes about. However, there are ways to avoid being a victim, and the author shares them with us in this book.

Says Keighley, “I have always been amazed at how simple identity theft is to perpetrate; the tools required are readily available. . . . identity theft is virtually unstoppable, and many of the perpetrators are never detected because . . . they are using your identification.”
Title fraud, mortgage fraud, debit and credit card fraud are just a few of the crimes against the public that Keighley has investigated as a security consultant and now writes about. No one, says the author, is safe anymore--not at home, at work, or on holiday. Your personal information, available on your driver’s licence, birth certificate, passport, etc., is what criminals are after.
Keighley offers advice on how to protect ourselves in a changing world, how to safeguard our identity, our property, our financial information, our credit cards. He introduces us to telephone and e-mail scams, and his stories are fascinating and horrifying. Pension scams are on the increase as our population ages. This is a book worth having.
